The artist applies paint expressively, using brushes, palette knives, combs and spatulas to create loose, playful lines. "Skating on an outdoor lake leaves a path behind you, creating a human drawing on the landscape," Sizaya explains. "When a snowstorm starts in the mountains, it is not always violent. Sometimes it's a blanket that falls from above," she explains. The "looming obsidian shapes" call to mind mountain ridges, dark rocks and tree trunks still visible in the storm, rendered in layers of thick acrylic paint. |

"It covers windows, lakes and ponds, and gives an otherworldly look to the landscape and surroundings." In "Swell," she incorporates pooled paint and dry brushing to create a highly textured interpretation of the world in winter. |  OVERALL DIMENSIONS Width: 18" Height: 24" The city I come from has days of thick fog, where all you can see are lights, maybe the shadow of a person, and the very edges of the buildings. It’s a world where only the important details become visible, and I tried to capture that feeling with this painting. |
